ROSARIO, Batangas- Defending champion Maico Buncio of Elf-YRS Racing conquered the odds as he captured his third straight victory recently in the third leg of the 2008 Shell Advance Superbikes Championship Series at the Batangas Racing Circuit.

The race didn't turn out to be another grueling encounter against Glenn Aguilar of Yellow Cab-Ducati-Access Plus as Buncio, 19, ran on a borrowed engine from former rider Wacky del Rosario and with an unchecked bloated tire pressure.

ROSARIO, Batangas - A normal 12 hours for an average person would mean a day in the office plus overtime work. It could also mean a whole day in school. For the homebody, it’s eight hours of sleep, some time watching TV, reading books and maybe, room cleaning.

It could also mean a trip to Laoag City, a flight to Sydney perhaps or six continuous film showings.

But for the motorcycle riders who joined this year’s historic "12-Hour Endurance Races" at the Batangas Racing Circuit in Rosario, Batangas on May 31, the 12 hours meant taking turns on a motorcycle pounding their way on a 3.7-kilometer track.

It didn’t matter if they were running under the sun or shade of the rain cloud. It was fun. They were used to it. Basically, it was the longest 12 hours of their lives.
